Though NYFW wrapped on February 14th I thought I’d still update y’all.
My favourite designer Anna Sui put out some top notch work as usual. I couldn’t quite decide my opinion, but I really do enjoy anything Sui puts out. All the looks seem 70s Austin Powers show girls meets Margot Tenenbaum. Overall, I do like it.
A prevalent theme I have seen in almost all the NY shows is decades. Mainly from the 70s and some 80s but more 70s. With collections like Rodarte with long boho dresses to Anna Sui with fringe bangs and things Twiggy would have worn, and all over vintage. 70s seems very prevalent in almost all the collections I have seen. Another trend is wrapping and layering.
I was a little bit disappointed by NYFW minus Marc by Marc Jacobs, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Sui’s. I wasn’t very happy with Marchesa either, but that’s another issue.
