Life lessons on imperfection and a review on face masks from Leaders Cosmetics.
I've always had perfectly imperfect (emphasis on the imperfect) normal skin. When Leaders Cosmetics reached out to me I was ecstatic to try out a few face masks from them. Leaders is a leading skin care line from Korea that recently launched in sunny Los Angeles!
My skin has a lot of flaws to say at the least. There's always a period of the month where my normal skin decides to turn against me. No matter how much Dior Snow or Soap & Glory products I use alongside my Clarisonic with acne prone heads I often wake up with redness, acne scars, and occasionally hyper pigmentation. I hope you enjoy my journey with these face masks!
1. Coconut Gel Brightening Recovery Mask (10EA/Box $31.50)
As my first official "Real girl face mask" I was amazed. For some reason I was under the impression that face masks needed to be mixed or applied evenly, but I simply cut the top of the packaging and adhered the face mask for 15-20 minutes like the instructions suggested. I have a serious problem with not drinking as much water as I should which contributes to my often dull/lacking/ugh skin (Yeah, yeah I know I'm working on it!) but this mask was incredible in the sense of hydrating and revitalizing my skin. I applied it at night after flying all day from Washington D.C. (with a lack of H20 in my body and plenty of Starbucks iced coffee instead). My face instantly looked brighter in the morning. This mask helped even out my skin also adding some luster.
2. Coconut Gel Mask with Orange (10EA/Box $24.50)
Whenever I buy new face products a prerequisite is Vitamin C. Seriously, I swear by the "C." Vitamin C instantly makes my skin look brighter, more luminous, and clears acne/ acne scars faster. Plus, I personally think it helps even out harsher ingredients like salicylic acid which I often require in large doses. Although my roommate laughed at me for quite awhile when I left this mask on I felt refreshed and it certainly helped me prepare for an 8:30 computer science lecture which I will never be emotionally ready for. What I like the most about these masks is that the packaging really explains to you what is in the product, how to apply the masks, and they actually do what they claim. I would suggest this mask for someone who is looking for something refreshing for their skin.
3. Collagen Boosting Renewal Mask (10EA/Box $24.90)
This was the last mask I tried and to be honest it was my favourite out of the three. It was trickier to get out of the plastic because it didn't come lined like the other two, but it was easier to apply and I felt like I wasn't adjusting the mask as often. I loved this mask the most. In the morning my skin was somewhat dewy and the redness was reduced. I also liked the texture and feel of this mask in comparison to the other two because it seemed thicker. Overall, I found this mask the most efficient in reducing redness and creating a fresh face for me.Overall I am a huge fan of Leaders Cosmetics especially their face masks. The only problem I had was that the masks would often lift up and I constantly felt like I was moving it around or patting it down (Except for the Collagen Boosting Renewal Mask). These masks definitely contributed in taming my unruly skin and I would suggest them to anyone interested in investing in innovative face masks.
Although I am a strong advocate for inner beauty, your outer beauty often starts on the condition of your skin (Who decided this nonsense?!). We may not be able to tame the wild nature of our skin, but we can surely try with patience and better skincare regimes and products.
I love the title of your blog, it's so cute. I need to do one of these masks. This weather is drying out my skin massively.

I love that you included that piece of wisdom at the end of the post. Real beauty is within and I think you're right about the outer beauty, that begins with ones skin. Great review.
