Wrap It Up

My wrap dress obsession continues. Seriously I just bought another DVF wrap dress last Saturday. However, the more I buy them the more I love the simplicity and versatility of these dresses. They look so put together, and they're so comfy.

 I think my wrap dress obsession is part of my conquest to simplify my life. Less searching for dresses that don't love me or work for my body. Wrap dresses work for me, they make me feel good, and I know what size to buy them in! Wrap dresses may seem boring but hey DVF created a dress that symbolized power and independence for an entire generation of women- can you say that about any other dress you own?

This is the Vicia Wrap Dress by my favorite designer of all time Anna Sui (for Anthropologie). Sold out online, but you can view it here. The dress reminds me of marigolds my mom would plant when I was a child, it has a very Indian vibe too. Originally this dress was $288 but I got it for $20 on Poshmark. Got it dry cleaned and voila! Perfect! At first I was hesitant at first because the print was a little more tribal than I had initially wanted, but when I tried it on it was perfect. I’ve been wearing it everywhere. Barbecues in NYC, date night, and of course on campus!

It’s the perfect dress for everyday in the hot heat, mild heat, and cooler weather. My only hesitation is the fiber content of this dress, but it works. If I was to accessorize more I’d whip out a clutch. I think a bold lip works best for this dress! My favourite bold lips are Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Aria, Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Craft, and M.A.C. Rebel. I think I’d also wear this dress with tights and riding boots.
