Hi friends! New year, new layout, and a favorite outfit to share!
2016 was full of new experiences. Revisits to favorite places like NYC/VA, so many concerts, new clothes, new books, and new challenges like interning at Anthropologie and finishing my senior year of college.
I'm surprised I've never shared this look on JMC because its such a go to for me. I've had this Lela Rose Neiman Marcus for Target blouse since my sophomore year of college. I swapped something on Vinted for it and I'm so glad I did. I love the floral lace detail. This top is so feminine yet there's an edge to it. The details are even more beautiful on camera. Especially in the city of fountains!
My favorite faux leather Nasty Gal jacket is officially getting old. I am starting to see some serious wear ='( So when I found this jacket on Zaful ($36.99) I knew it was not just a want, but a need. Although my jacket is a little more cropped, this leather jacket is a bit more greaser-like.
I love pairing a super feminine top with these Rag & Bone Rally cargo jeans. Fun fact Jennifer Garner has this pair in green! I found this pair at a thrift store and was initially unsure about how I felt. However, I couldn't say no to such an affordable and unique pair of Rag & Bone denim and I'm so glad I didn't. I like this pair because of the pockets, craftmanship, and because of the cozy fit. As you can see in some pictures there's a pocket right at my thighs and this pair is so cozy. These jeans are just slightly big on me, which is actually a nice change. A structured blouse or baseball t-shirt with these jeans make some of my favorite outfits!
Although you can only see my handbag in my pre-Regina George getting hit by a bus/fracturing her spine pictures its one of my favorites. I don't own a lot of handbags but this Ligero east-west tote is one of the best. Given I got it for $250 on Amazon (a steal considering it was $448 originally). It fits everything! Its my travel and my, "I need a lot of stuff bag." I can fit my giant wallet, Kindle, chargers, food, sunglasses, iPod classic, Macbook Air, and future cat? in it!
Ellen Goodman said, "We spend January 1st walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives...not looking for flaws, but for potential."
Here's to the potential in 2017 for all of us. I am grateful for all that 2016 has given me, including all the life lessons. This year I will try my best to unplug more, stop checking my email after 5, and read 22 books.
Happy New Year, friends!
