Everyday I Have the Blues

The wrap dress saga continues for me. I first saw this wrap dress last summer on my treks from my internship to the Barnes & Noble’s Café where I would have lunch every day.

I’d pass this beautiful blue wrap dress in the J. Crew window, promising myself that once I was done with my internship at Anthropologie it would be mine. It felt like that scene in Confessions of a Shopaholic where she tries to hide from the window mannequins. I waited and waited for this dress to go on sale, but alas it stayed at $138 for longer than I’d like to admit. I had already splurged on J. Crew shorts last summer and internally I knew I couldn’t justify buying this dress as well. I eventually gave up thinking, "I own too many wrap dresses anyways." But still some part of me just couldn’t give up on the thought of this blue wrap dress being mine.

A few full moons ago, I went on eBay and found this dress for $25, new with tags. Initially I was overjoyed, but I had my reservations. I wasn’t sure it would fit me, plus there was a tiny defect. Nonetheless, I took the plunge and here I am wearing this beautiful blue dress.

I am planning on wearing this dress for my anniversary, and possibly every other occasion this year! This blue is so cheerful and pretty. I have no blues in my closet so this will be a fun pick for going out. This dress is also 100% cotton with pockets! (bless you J. Crew).

For reference I am wearing a petite size which has a slightly shorter length, but I did not size down. The fit is very comfortable overall!

This dress makes me feel like Emma Stone's understudy in La La Land. 🎶Someone in the crowd could be the one you need to know🎶
