This year one of my resolutions was to be more conscious with my purchases in regards to sustainability. So when Love, Beauty, and Planet reached out to me to try their new products I was excited. Love, Beauty, and Planet is an eco-friendly game changer to the drug-store shampoo and conditioner aisle. Every bottle is made from 100% recycled materials (caps and pumps are getting there) and is recyclable. The ingredient list for these products are quite long, but the products have no silicons, parabens, and are vegan. I've really been trying to buy more beauty products that emphasize going green this year and these beauties are a great push in that direction. Today I'm sharing my review on this line and sharing some tips on how to go green with your own beauty products.
First thing I have to say about this shampoo, conditioner, and body wash line is that the packaging is is so pretty. I love that all the variations are a different color. This shampoo is specifically designed to repair. Overall the consistency of the shampoo is nice and you don't need a lot to wash your hair. My hair has been super damaged, and lifeless lately. Although I don't shampoo every day when I do use this shampoo my hair feels lighter, happier, healthier, and like its taken a little tropical vacation. The shampoo has a nice smell of coconut and ylang ylang. Its definitely refreshing! For $8.49 the price is a little high, but there is 13.5 oz of product. Plus you can find it at Target, and Walgreens. In total there are 6 shampoos from Love, Beauty, and Planet. The coconut water and mimosa flower shampoo seems tempting!
The conditioners from Love, Beauty, and Planet have a fast-rinse technology that break down the conditioner formula faster than other products. There was something odd to the formula of this conditioner. Its so thin and pretty watery. However, I felt like it rinsed out really quickly. The smell of this conditioner isn't quite as strong as the shampoo, but I'm not worried about it. I did find myself maniacally squeezing this to get a half dollar amount. Aside from that I can't say I noticed anything out of the ordinary from this guy. I've been using it alongside a JOICO Reconstructor weekly and my hair has never felt better. My split ends don't look much better considering I haven't got a hair cut since August (I'm waiting a year for my hair to grow out to Kim K weave length lol). My hair does feel softer and healthier when I use this shampoo and conditioner.
When I saw this body wash I was pretty sure I'd never ever have to use another body wash ever because of its size. I have no idea how I'm going to go through all of this! This body wash is just like the shampoo and conditioners and focuses on tropical hydration. This scent would definitely not be my first choice for body wash as it gets a little tiring to use all three of the same scented shower products. I definitely would like to try the argan oil and lavender body wash!
How cute are these pins? I don't own a denim jacket but I'm thinking about buying this Free People ombre denim jacket I WAS OBSESSED with in 12th grade. Nevertheless, I think its really cool that Love, Beauty, and Planet is committed to people and the planet. On their website they have a "Our Tribe" section where they highlight other's small acts of love for the planet with changemakers who are really making an effort in their communities in regards to saving the planet. In addition Love, Beauty, and Planet is carbon conscious and displays their admirable goals on their website is super cool.
8 Tips on Going Green With Your Beauty Products
- Origins accepts any empty beauty product regardless of the brand to recycle since 2k9 y'all!
- All your empty beauty plastic bottles can be recycled as long as its plastics!
- You can recycle your glass beauty products along side your glass recycling.
- Share your beauty products with your friends instead of throwing them away if they don't work for you. My girlfriends and I trade lipsticks or eyeliners (sanitized of course) frequently. Its actually pretty fun, and helps extend the product life cycle.
- I wish I could find a brand that recycles nail polish in KC. Tenoverten (NYC) and Côte (LA) allow you to recycle bottles to their salons.
- Hoard your M.A.C. products every 6 M.A.C. products you recycle turn into a free lipstick!
- Consider how much/often you're throwing away beauty products and consider alternatives or more eco-friendly products.
- This is my favorite tip yet, Garnier partnered with one of my favorite sites Terracycle to allow people to send their empties including shampoo caps, etc with free shipping. Click here for more.
Well friends, that's it! I hope you've liked this rather lengthy post. I know you're probably wondering if Chanel would actually buy this shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the future, and my answer is.....YES! Its not a game changer for me in terms of formulation, but I definitely want to support LBP with their recyclable products and commitments to the planet. Plus, the packaging is just 10/10.
I received these products complimentary from Love, Beauty, and Planet for testing purposes. All opinions are always my own.

So glad to hear it resonated with you Emily! Definitely! Still toying with the idea of getting a denim jacket haha
DeleteThis is such a great idea. I wish more companies would invest in more sustainable packaging. I have a hard time with this. I want to be more ethically sustainable (not that I don't recycle and reuse packaging) but I have a hard time with sensitive skin and finding stuff that won't irritate.
