Greetings and salutations! Today I'm sharing one of my classic, "Lizzie McGuire you are an outfit repeater looks!" I'm wearing one of my most favorite pieces an Adam Lippes for Target turtleneck, American Apparel thermal, BDG denim, and chelsea boots. You might even remember this post from
2015.
This turtleneck has become one of my favorite pieces. The material is so strong and durable, it keeps me warm, and I just find plaid so comforting. Its always a nice pick me up on days where layers are a must. I remember when the Adam Lippes for Target look book dropped, and I instantly knew I had to do whatever it took to get this turtleneck. I remember carefully coveting this item the day of the release in my then punk rock bedroom. I felt so pleased with myself when I was able to order this turtleneck. Since then I've worn it + a thermal countless times. Its one of my favorite outfits!
Not too long ago while putting this turtleneck on I got to thinking on how bummed out I would have been if I had not added this piece to my closet. Nothing keeps me up at night more than a) where we are at as a nation and b) the clothes I didn't buy. Although secondhand e-retailers like Poshmark, Tradesy, Vinted, and eBay have certainly made it easier to find long lost pieces there's still an indescribable pang of regret I feel for losing out on something I wanted.
I couldn't help but recall some of the pieces I've passed on over the years that I wish I had just bought instead of being cheap. I'm still kicking myself over. I thought it might be fun to share!
Although a few of these items are just from this past year, I think my biggest regret is the Versace for H&M silk print scarf. I found it at a thrift store and talked myself out of it. To this day I'm still looking for it. There is some good news though! I finally got the Victoria Beckham for Target dress! I have been wanting it for almost a year now and found it NWT for what it cost at Target! Coming to the blog soon! I also managed to snag the Kate Spade iPhone case as well!
Nevertheless, I definitely am so grateful for everything in my closet. I've been digitizing everything in my wardrobe (a blog post for a different day) and it has definitely made me more conscious and grateful for the things I own. It all has a story and was picked with love and brings me joy.
