Last spring when the Victoria Beckham for Target collection dropped I wanted this Blue Stripe Poplin Gathered Waist Dress, but I wasn't sure. I had never owned a piece of clothing with this unique type of sleeve and I had already ordered two pieces rom the collection going on three. Which left me feeling undecided whether I needed a fourth piece from the collection especially when I own 0 stripes.
What was funny was that after passing on this dress I found myself wanting to wear it for everything- my birthday, bridal shower, grad party, you name it! My friend Taylor from the Girl & the Bag had this dress and I was so envious because it looked amazing on her. After scouring for this dress in my size and at a price that wasn't twice the retail price I finally found this dress for the original retail price and new with tags. I'm not huge on stripes especially candy stripes, but I couldn't pass on the architectural structure. Plus I feel like this dress could go along with any shoe although I chose my Something Blue by Betsey Johnson heels. I would also pair it with summery espadrilles or gold heels. I also think this dress could go with any handbag from Chanel to Kate Spade.
Apparently this dress is practically an exact replica from Victoria Beckham's normal collection, but with lighter stripes. I really love that Victoria Beckham made these pieces really similar to her runway collection. I could see myself wearing this dress everyday to be honest.
Part of me wants to pair this dress with a belt, but I'm not sure which belt to choose, any thoughts? I do have a Kate Spade Chain belt, but I think maybe a corset belt or maybe something subtle like Tory Burch? No Gucci belts, minus the leather belt with the crystal Dionysus. I am so over the whole GG belt look. Kreayshawn's Gucci Gucci hasn't been more relevant than ever haha.
This past week I've started my new job and I'm somehow managing my 6 hours of grad school at the same time. Trying to have a life hasn't been easy but I went to the Whole Foods KC on Monday. Managed to get my hair cut and nails done on Friday and Saturday. Plus, I went to a beautiful wedding this weekend. What I wore to it should be up here soon!
